Recap from TJ Hawke:

The Bulldogs were suppose to wrestle Dark Fuego & Pete Wilson, but the Pitbulls attacked them before the bell and took their place in this semi-finals of a tournament to determine the the number one contenders for the MLW Tag Team Champions.

Harry Smith looks much smaller here.  The Bulldogs were mostly in control until Smith accidentally gave Wilson a Yakuza Kick.  The Pitbulls worked over Wilson after that.  Wilson managed to catch Reyes with a dropkick eventually, and Smith was then able to tag in. Smith ran mild (not a typo) on the Pitbulls.  Smith hit Reyes with a Scorpion Deathdrop for a nearfall.  Romero caught Smith with a bridging German, and Wilson had to make the save.  Harry hit Romero with a running powerslam, and then Wilson hit a springboard elbow drop: 1…2…3!

Well, I’ve officially seen a match from Major League Wrestling.  This match was pretty basic, but it was interesting to see Harry Smith and Tyson Kidd early in their careers.  Reyes and Romero didn’t seem to get a chance to shine, which was surprising because they went to the trouble to have them take out the other team before the match started.

Match Rating: **1/2

About TJ Hawke

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling. Now though, he writes for the pop culture site (411mania.com), has his own blog (The Best of Chikara), and is the creator of the very site you are reading now.
