Recap from TJ Hawke:

Cross was able to send Devitt to the floor, and he then sent him into the crowd with a tope suicida.  Back in the ring, Cross hit a handspring elbow and the flagpole kicks.  Devitt was finally able to take him down with a dropkick.  Cross came back with a spinning heel kick, but Devitt managed to take him right back down with a back elbow.  Cross tied for a top rope move, but on the way down, Devitt met him with a knife edge chop.  Cross finally stopped Devitt’s momentum with an enzuigiri.  Cross hit a springboard cross-body, a neckbreaker, a springboard double stomp to the back, and a standing moonsault in a row: 1…2…NO!  Devitt called for a super brainbuster, but it looked like it was just a superplex.  Cross came back with a Brogue Kick and standing shooting star: 1…2…NO!  Cross went for a split-legged moonsault, but Devitt got his knees up.  Devitt then hit the Ghetto Stomp: 1…2…NO!  Devitt followed that up with a Trouble in Paradide and Bloody Sunday: 1…2…3!

This was a really good match, and it was probably the best M-Dogg match that I’ve ever seen.  I was worried going in that these two wouldn’t have much in the way of chemistry, but they seemed to work really well together.  I also think that these two could actually have a much better match under different circumstances.  Check this match out.

Match Rating: ***1/2

About TJ Hawke

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling. Now though, he writes for the pop culture site (411mania.com), has his own blog (The Best of Chikara), and is the creator of the very site you are reading now.
