Recap from TJ Hawke:

This match was for LaMotta’s Anarchy Television Championship.

No one had much success against Super-Electro early, including Akira Tozawa.  Dingo finally was able to take him down with a Michinoku Driver variation: 1…2…3.  The rest of the competitors traded moves for a while.  Dingo wiped out Jay with a slingshot plancha.  Tozawa then took them out with a tope suicida. La Motta blocked a second one from Tozawa and then hit a sloppy Arabian Press Moonsault to the floor.  Davey Vega finished the sequence with a tope con hello.  Tozawa and Dingo traded chops.  LaMotta got a nearfall on Dingo with a snap Falcon Arrow.  Jay then hit Dingo with a Michinoku Driver: 1…2…3.  Tozawa killed Jay with a saito suplex for a nearfall.  Tozawa hit a series of kicks to Jay’s head, which eventually eliminated Jay.  Vega got a nearfall on LaMotta with a crucifix driver.  Vega then hit a kneeling superkick: 1…2…NO!  LaMotta came back on Vega with a short-range lariat: 1…2…NO!  Vega had LaMotta pinned after an air raid crash, but Tozawa stopped the pin to hit Vega with an Everast German: 1…2…3!  Vega is eliminated.  LaMotta immediately hit Tozawa with a saito suplex: 1…2…NO!  Tozawa hit a rolling elbow.  Tozawa then hit a Brogue Kick in the corner.  LaMotta avoided a charging Tozawa in the corner and rolled him up with a handful of tights: 1…2…3!

I’ve only watch a few ACW matches, and this match continued the run of fun matches I’ve seen from them.  This match wasn’t wrestling perfection or anything like that, but they kept the crowd and me entertained throughout the match.  A triple threat match between Vega, Tozawa, and LaMotta probably would have been better, but this was still quite good.

Match Rating: ***1/4

About TJ Hawke

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling. Now though, he writes for the pop culture site (411mania.com), has his own blog (The Best of Chikara), and is the creator of the very site you are reading now.
