Recap from TJ Hawke:
Del Rey was in the BDK at the time, so she acted very rudo. Del Rey jumped her from behind to start the match. Del Rey took the Chikara shirt that Toshie had and stomped on it. Toshie was devastated by this. Toshie reclaimed the shirt and folded it up nicely. Del Rey jumped her again before Toshie finished her laundry. Gavin Loudspeaker points out that Toshie was the first WCW Woman Cruiserweight Champion. That has to be one of the more random belts for a major promotion in modern wrestling history. Del Rey was in complete control. Del Rey made an “Earthquake” reference, which was pretty cheap heat (this event happened shortly after the devastating 2011 earthquake in Japan). Toshie came back with some running strikes. Toshie couldn’t take Del Rey down, and Del Rey was able to hit two big boots to take down Toshie. Toshie came back by grabbing Del Rey’s nose and then slapped it. And again. Toshie came back with a facewash. Toshie avoided a big boot and rolled her up for a good nearfall. Toshie ran to the top rope, but Del Rey hit the koppou kick. Del Rey tried for a powerbomb, but Toshie reversed it with a hurricanrana. Missile dropkick from Toshie: 1…2…NO! Toshie followed that with a top-rope splash: 1…2…NO! Del Rey came back with a Drunk Slam variation: 1…2…NO! High kick to the head from Del Rey. Bridging German suplex from Del Rey: 1…2…NO! Superkick from Toshie! Toshie got a small package: 1…2…NO! HUGE POWERBOMB FROM DEL REY: 1…2…NO! Great nearfall. Royal Butterfly: 1…2…3!
The match started in a surprising way, but the last two thirds of the match were so much fun, with great heat. Toshie did very well in several Chikara appearances throughout 2011.
