Recap from TJ Hawke:

Jarek asks Davey to pick a card, but Davey slaps them out of his hand and then slaps Jarek in the face. They started out on the mat with neither man being able to get the advantage. They got to their feet and Jarek got the first advantage with a European uppercut and a delayed flapjack on the ropes. Jarek hit a somersault plancha. Jarek went for a piledriver on the ring apron, but Vega back dropped him to the floor. Vega started to get the heat after that. Jarek got a few hope spots in, but Vega was able to cut him off several times. After a while, Jarek managed to hit a chinbreaker, which allowed him to start a comeback. Jarek trapped Davey in the ropes and hit a superkick and an inverted pedigree: 1…2…NO! Jarek went for a flipping piledriver, but Davey escaped and hit a big discus clothesline: 1…2…NO! Davey went for a super German suplex, but Jarek trapped Davey in the Tree of Joey Lawrence: LEGDROP FROM JAREK! They got to their feet and Jarek hit a half-nelson suplex: 1…2…NO! Jarek followed that up with a springboard DDT and a split-legged moonsault: 1…2…NO! Davey came back with a superkick and a Schweign: 1…NO! They started trading strikes. Davey hit another Superkick/Schweign combination: 1…2…3! Davey became the Beyond “Wins Leader” with that match.

 

This was a very good match. Both guys have been two of my favorite performers in Beyond, and they proved how talented they were here.

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling.
