TJ Hawke’s Analysis of this Match

The CLASH are a heel stable who are debuting two new members (Miller & Mannox). This match seems designed to get some regulars on the show who will have a fun opener.

The faces had the advantage early. The CLASH eventually were able to work over Del Sol after Miller cut him off. Del Sol made his own comeback and wiped out two CLASHmen with a Fosbury Flop. Del Soy made a tag and bodies started flying everywhere; I couldn’t keep up with the action. A parade of finishers from everybody followed that. Everyone (but Miller) ended up on the outside, which allowed Esperanza to hit a Shooting Star to the floor. Lawrence ran in the ring and hit a top rope hurricanranna on Miller for the win.

Fast and furious opener that the crowd enjoyed. There was some sloppiness at a couple of points though. Also, the heels never really had a prolonged heat segment, so the fans never really seemed invested in the good guys winning.  Still though, the match had a lot of fun stuff.  DVD version of the match made the match seem better than the iPPV version.

Match Rating: ***

About TJ Hawke

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling. Now though, he writes for the pop culture site (411mania.com), has his own blog (The Best of Chikara), and is the creator of the very site you are reading now.
