TJ Hawke’s Analysis
Commentating is done so that the live crowd can hear it. That must be unbearable live (but tell me if you have enjoyed it). Things were relatively even until Davey hit a big soccer kick from the ring apron. They got back in the ring and Davey had the advantage. Matthews came back with a big tornado DDT, which got a nearfall. They kicked each other in the head multiple times until they both went down. Kyle hit a pair of stiff kneeling superkicks: 1…2…NO! Kyle then locked in an Abdominal Stretch, but Davey escaped and got an ankle lock. Matthews then hit the corner IED kick for a count of 2.999! Davey kicked him in the head, but Kyle kicked out! Davey then hit a Bakutari Sliding Kick: 1…2…3!
This match was awesome. Matthews really needs to get more prominent independent shots. Everything I saw from him in 2011 was damn good. Davey once again proved that he is incredibly effective at working as a subtle heel, and that’s the position he should be in most of the time. Thanks Platinum for providing this match for free.
