Recap from TJ Hawke:

Pearce had “The Family Stone” in his corner.  This is for Pearce’s NWA Title.  Cabana beat Pearce for the title a year ago, but then there was some major NWA bullshit that caused Colt to drop the belt to the Sheik.  Pearce eventually regained the title and now, here we are again.

 

This. Is. Serious.  Colt was running wild early.  Pearce had to regroup on the floor.  Back in the ring, Colt was still in control, but Stu Stone caused Colt to fall to the floor.  Pearce then wiped him out with a TOPE SUICIDA!  What the fuck!  The show then bleeped out the crowd chanting “HOLY SHIT!”  Funny.  Pearce was still in control as they brawled around the ring.  Back in the ring, Pearce went for a middle rope dive, but Cabana blocked it.  Pearce trapped him in the ropes though, so Colt couldn’t get any momentum.  The referee, Rick Knox!, allowed Colt to escape.  Colt came back with a Lionsault to a standing Pearce!  Colt called for the piledriver, but Pearce then locked in a figure four.  Stu Stone assisted the hold from ringside.  Knox caught them and forced Pearce to break the hold.  Pearce was still in control though.  Colt came back with an enzuigiri.  Colt avoided some more Pearce offense.  The lady from the Family Stone tried to interfere, but Colt just kissed her and caused Pearce to knock her to the floor.  Colt locked in the Billy Goat’s Curse, but Stu Stone blatantly interfered.  Knox didn’t call for the bell.  Colt got Pearce to accidentally knock Stone silly.  Colt hit a big lariat: 1…2…NO!  Colt went to the top rope, but Pearce crotched him.  Pearce then hit a torture rack bomb: 1…2…NO!  Pearce hit a Double A Spinebuster.  Pearce went for the figure four, but Colt reversed it into a small package.  Both men went down after a double clothesline spot.  They struggled to their feet, slugging it out.  Pearce went to the top rope, but Colt knocked him down.  Moonsault from Colt: 1…2…NO! Billy Goat’s Curse! Pearce made the ropes.  Pearce hit a BIG lariat: 1…2…NO!  Another lariat from Pearce: 1…2…NO! Pearce set up for another lariat, but Colt reversed it into a backslide for a nearfall.  Pearce set up for a piledriver, but Colt escaped and sat down in a pin: 1…2…3!!!!!

 

Great, great match.  Both men knew their roles perfectly, and they took the crowd on a wild ride.  Colt Cabana is the perfect choice for NWA Champion in 2012.  I have no idea why they would want anyone else in the role.

Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV.
