Recap from TJ Hawke:

Rose is one half of the AAPW Tag Champions.  This is an opening round match in the No Limits Title tournament to crown the first champion for the division.  The No Limits Division is essentially the X-Division.

O’Riley got the first advantage.  He hit a cartwheel moonsault for an early nearfall.    Rose managed to toss O’Riley to the floor and then hit a baseball slide to send O’Riley into the guardrail.  They took a commercial break.  When they came back, Rose was still getting the heat.  O’Riley managed to knock Rose down and hit a standing shooting star press for another nearfall.  O’Riley hit a buzzsaw kick for another nearfall.  Rose countered a charging O’Riley with a double stomp.  O’Riley came back with a slingshot DDT: 1…2…NO!  Rose came back with a gutbuster for a nearfall of his own.  O’Riley managed to hit a Roll of the Dice and then delivered a few kicks.  O’Riley went to the top rope and hit a 450 Splash: 1…2…3.

I enjoyed this match, and it was a good way of establishing how the No Limits Division is going to be something different for AAPW.  I am a big fan of Joey O’Riley, and I am glad he is being featured prominently here.  Rose looked strong here as well, but O’Riley is a real “blue chip” prospect.

Match Rating: ***

About TJ Hawke

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling. Now though, he writes for the pop culture site (411mania.com), has his own blog (The Best of Chikara), and is the creator of the very site you are reading now.
