Recap from TJ Hawke:

This was the first level in the Seven Levels of Hate series between Colt Cabana and Adam Pearce.  This is a “First Blood” match and the NWA Title is on the line.  Cabana recently won the title on NWA Hollywood TV.  The Family Stone accompanied Pearce to the ring.

Cabana immediately sent him to the outside.  They brawled around ringside for a bit.  Cabana delivered a number of shots to Pearce’s forehead.  Back in the ring, Colt hit Pearce in the forehead some more.  Heather Lynn grabbed Colt from the outside, and Pearce then sent Colt to the floor.  Pearce tried to make Colt bleed now.  Heather gave Pearce some brass knuckles, but Colt blocked the attack.  Pearce pulled out the ring bell, but Colt again blocked the attack.  Pearce took him down with a modified spinebuster.  Colt came back with an atomic drop and a series of strikes.  Colt grabbed the bell, but Stu Stone grabbed Colt the outside, which allowed Pearce to take Colt down with a lariat.  Colt blocked a piledriver attempt.  Pearce accidentally took down Stu Stone.  Colt accidentally took out Rick Knox.  Pearce hit a piledriver.  Pearce took off a turnbuckle cover, but Colt immediately reversed Pearce’s momentum and set him into the exposed turnbuckle.  Pearce was bleeding, but the referee didn’t see it.    Colt repeatedly bashed Pearce into a regular turnbubkle.  Rick Knox recovered and saw Pearce bleeding. Colt wins.

A fun match, but not on the level of their last NWA Title match.  The stipulation and the flat ending certainly didn’t help things.  That being said though, these two are always fun to watch, and this was no exception.

Match Rating: ***

About TJ Hawke

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling. Now though, he writes for the pop culture site (411mania.com), has his own blog (The Best of Chikara), and is the creator of the very site you are reading now.
