Colt Cabana vs. Adam Pearce from NECW’s Stronger Than Hurt 2012

Recap from TJ Hawke:

This is the second level in the SEVEN LEVELS OF HATE between Pearce and Cabana.  The first level was a ‘First Blood’ match in NWA Hollywood that Cabana won.  This is a Street Fight for Colt’s NWA Title.  Pearce cut a promo before the match.  I don’t get people who don’t like Pearce promos.

Pearce jawed with a lot of ringside fans.  Cabana defended them.  Pearce jumped Cabana during the ring introductions.  Colt made a comeback using a series of strikes. They ended up on the floor, with Colt remaining in control.  Cabana rolled Pearce back into the ring.  Colt started interracting with the fans, which allowed Pearce to take Colt out with a tope suicida.  Pearce was in control after that.  Pearce body slammed Colt on a table.  Pearce then did a standing elbow drop onto Colt to break the table.  Back in the ring, Pearce hit a lariat for a nearfall.  Pearce pulled out the NWA belt.  Colt avoided a shot, and he then hit Pearce in the face with the ten pounds of gold.  Pearce’s forehead got busted open.  Colt delivered multiple strikes to Pearce’s forehead.  Colt hit a big lariat for a nearfall.  Colt then hit a top rope moonsault: 1…2…NO!  Colt got a chair in the ring, but Pearce then hit Colt with a DDT on the chair.  Pearce put the chair in the turnbuckle, but Colt managed to send Pearce into the chair face-first.  Colt then locked in the Billy Goat’s Curse!  Pearce passed out! Colt wins!

I really enjoyed this match and it was a step up from their First Blood match.  Both guys sold the hatred perfectly, and they truly made this match seem like a fate.  These guys are fucking professionals.  Check out all their matches.

Match Rating: ***1/2

About TJ Hawke

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling. Now though, he writes for the pop culture site (411mania.com), has his own blog (The Best of Chikara), and is the creator of the very site you are reading now.
