Recap from TJ Hawke:
This was a number one contender’s match for the RPW Heavyweight Title. Anthony was posing on the top rope, and Bradley immediately him with a super German suplex. The bell rang, and the match started. I expected Bradley to be in control after that, but it was 50/50 for a while. Bradley went for a tope suicida at one point, but Anthony blocked it and then hit a slingshot plancha. Bradley came back and dumped Anthony to the floor. Bradley climbed up to the balcony and yelled at Billy Corgan. They started brawling in the backstage area, near the merch and food stations. They made their way back to the ring, and Bradley was still mostly in control. After a good while, Anthony was finally able to hit a middle rope dropkick. Anthony then got a nearfall with a rolling DVD. Anthony then hit a powerbomb and locked in a Boston Crab. Bradley managed to get to the ropes. Anthony then managed to hit a Vertebreaker variation: 1…2…NO! Anthony went for a moonsault, but Bradley rolled out of the way. Bradley went for a lariat, but Anthony hit a couple of boots. Bradley finally unleased the lariat: 1…2…3!
This match was really, really good. Both guys are strong prospects for Resistance Pro to build around, and it’s matches like this that makes me keep an eye on RPW (even if the promotion has many faults in other areas). I also greatly enjoyed Dr. Keith on commentary for this match. Both of these guys should be getting bigger and better opportunities in independent wrestling.
Match Rating: ***1/2
