Recap from TJ Hawke:

Mr. 450 had a backstage promo.  He said that he was the best of the best in Resistance Pro, that he would show Skylar and Joscephus why he is the master of the 450 Splash, and that he was going to party all night with his “Mamacita” afterwards.  He cut the whole promo in Spanish.

Jocephus is a big boy with big hair and a big beard.  He dominated the early portion of the match.  450 and Skylar managed to send Jocephus to the floor.  450 and Skylar then went back and forth in the ring until 450 wiped out Jocephus with a tope suicida. Jocephus recovered and went back to dominating both men.  450 and Skylar came back on him with a series of superkicks and a pair of Lionsaults.  Skylar hit 450 with a Sliced Bread #2: 1…2…NO!  450 hit Skylar with a twisting brainbuster for a nearfall of his own.  Jocephus recovered and went back to dominating.  Jocephus caught 450 and chokeslammed him on Skylar.  Jocephus pinned Slylar: 1…2…3!

This was my second ever Resistance Pro match, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.  Jocephus is clearly a Bruiser Brody rip-off, so he’s going to have to do something to distinguish himself. He still works the monster-style well though.  Mr. 450 came across like a star in his pre-match promo, and I was actually disappointed that the match wasn’t laid out to make him the star of the match.  He would definitely be someone that would make me want to watch more R-Pro.  Skylar didn’t get as much of a showcase as the other two, but he did his job well here.

Match Rating: **3/4

About TJ Hawke

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling. Now though, he writes for the pop culture site (411mania.com), has his own blog (The Best of Chikara), and is the creator of the very site you are reading now.
