Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander vs. Tadarius Thomas & QT Marshall from ROH TV 2012

Recap from TJ Hawke:

Tadarius Thomas is known as TD Thomas in AAW, which is the only place I have seen him before.  QT Marshall recently got a look from Chikara and Wrestling is Fun! I have never seen him before, but I have heard good things about him.

 

C&C were in control early, but the new team cut off Coleman eventually and got the heat on him.  Coleman blocked a slingshot stomp from Marshall, but Marshall prevented a tag and hit a big lariat.  Coleman avoided a double team attempt and made a hot tag to Alexander.  Alexander hit a springboard lariat on Marshall.  Alexander then gave Thomas a half-nelson slam.  Coleman then gave Marshall a snapmare driver.  Thomas came back with some kicks on both men.  Alexander killed Thomas with a leaping kick.  Coleman put Thomas on the top rope and hit a one motion super hurricanrana.  Alexander then hit Thomas with a springboard frogsplash: 1…2…3!

 

Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness put over Thomas after the match, saying that he impressed them more than Marshall.  Marshall then promptly gave Thomas an Alabama Slam.  Marshall ended the segment with an in-ring promot about how great he is.  I wonder if this will go anywhere.

 

Solid match.  Nothing that you absolutely must see, but I think all four guys were showcased to highlight their strengths.  I like Alexander and Coleman a lot, but I don’t understand why their push in ROH has been so weak.  Thomas and Marshall are two guys to keep an eye on, and I’m encouraged that ROH’s scouting for “dark” matches isn’t as lazy as it seems (at least in this case).

Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years.
