Alex Colon comes in this match representing CZW as part of their European tour. Mark Haskins, who has had international experience wrestling for wXw in Germany, Dragon Gate in Japan, and on television for TNA wrestling, is a regular for Southside Wrestling. I consider bith guys to be very underrated workers on the independents. Let’s go to the match.
Crowd is easily behind the hometown wrestler. Haskins wants the handshake but Colon kicks it away. They lock up, they feel each other out escaping each of their holds which leads to a standoff. Lock up again, Colon with the advantage seizing the hammerlock. Haskins shows off with a series of nip ups and hits a snap mare dropkick combo onto Colon. Colon rolls outside for a breather. Colon comes back in and evades the attempts of locking up with Haskins. Both more wary of locking up after seeing what each other can do. Both start the striking game with leg kicks to the thigh. Colon with the advantage over Haskins in the strike department as he continues with the strikes. Haskins wraps Colon back into more wrestling holds. Colon tries to pull the hair to escape but no luck for the leader of the 4 Loco. Colon pushes Haskins to the ropes who rebounds with a shoulder tackle to Colon. Haskins fakes another run to the ropes and wraps up Colon into a arm drag. Colon to the outside. Haskins goes for a dive but Colon moves out of the way. Haskins fakes the dive and hits a suicida on the other side of the ring onto Colon! Both go onto the outside apron of the ring. Colon tries for an German Suplex onto the floor but Haskins holds onto the ropes. Haskins fights out but Colon delivers an Enzigiri. DEATH VALLEY DRIVER ONTO THE OUTSIDE APRON! It looked like Haskins landed on Colons knee which looked even more devastating! Colon throws Haskins farther in the outside and heads back into the ring looking for the win via count out. Haskins makes it back to the ring at a count of 9.
Colon begins punishing Haskins with more kicks to the thigh and back. Strikes to the head of Haskins. Colon then begins choking out Haskins on the rope. Colon keeps with the strikes staying dominant over Haskins. Chop to the corner then delivers a strong Irish Whip to the other side of the ring that drives him to the floor. Colon begins getting under the skin of the fans. Colon snap mares Haskins to the middle of the ring then twists Haskins neck with his legs. Cocky pin gets Colon only a one count. Colon kicks at Haskins head asking for more from the English man. Haskins fires back with strikes to the stomach of Colon. Colon kicks Haskins back down. Colon with more chops and strikes to Haskins. Haskins finally throws Colon to the corner and delivers a HUGE chop to Alex! Colon though with a kick to the gut gets the advantage yet again. Colon then with a knee to Haskins back, fish hooks his mouth. Haskins with the rope break. Commentators are impressed with seeing the fish hook from Colon. More strikes to Haskins. Whips Haskins to the ropes. Haskins goes for the sunset flip but Colon Rolls out to a dropkick onto Haskins. Colon goes for the pin but only gets a 2 count.
Colon shows more of his frustration and gets more under the fans skin. Deep camel clutch onto Haskins. Fans get behind Haskins and he is able to reach the ropes for a rope break. Colon with trash talk to Haskins and tries to get a USA chant. Crowd doesn’t like that. More strikes as Colon continuous his dominance in this match. Colon tries for the Irish Whip but Haskins holds onto the ropes. Big elbow shot to Haskins and goes for the whip again but Haskins counters out and hits his own elbow shot to Colon. Haskins goes to the Ropes but Colon is their with a kick to the gut. Colon to the ropes but Haskins follows him for a Back Body Drop! Both men are down, Colon get up in the corner, Haskins hits a elbow to Colon, then follows it up with a butterfly suplex. Haskins goes for the pin but only a two count. Haskins goes for a back elbow to Colon in the corner but Colon brings his knees up. Russian Leg Sweep to the corner! Colon then hits an apron Yakuza kick to Haskins head on the middle turnbuckle! Colon to the top rope and his a tope rope knee drop to Haskins back! Colon goes for the pin but again only the two count. Colon then with some kicks to Haskins chest. Haskins flips out of the third kick but Colon with a knee to the gut. Kick to Haskins kneeling head. Colon takes the elbow pad off and his a running pointed elbow shot to Haskins head. Colon with the pin and only gets two. Colon goes for a body drop but Haskins rolls Colon out and hits Superkick onto a kneeling Alex! Haskins picks up Colon and hits a twisting front suplex! Haskins with the pin but only gets two! Haskins slams Colon then goes to the top. Colon gets up but Haskins drops down to the apron. Haskins tries to wrap his legs around Colon’s head but Colon lifts Haskins legs up and hits a SUPERKICK TO HASKINS HEAD ON THE TURNBUCKLE! Haskins head snapped back from that kick. Colon with a package driver varation and goes for the pin and again only gets two! Commentators are flabbergasted from what their seeing. Haskins with a small package! Two count only. Haskins lifts Colon up and hits knee straight to Colons head! RELEASE GERMAN SUPLEX! COLON KICKS OUT AT TWO! Haskins goes for Made in Japan but Colon rolls him up for a pin! only a two count! Colon with a knee to the gut! Haskins matrix dodges a clothesline, SUPERKICK! MADE IN JAPAN!!! 1…2…3! Haskins wins!
Such a smart match from both guys. Haskins easily outclassed Colon in terms of the catch as catch can wrestling, so Alex kept up with the strikes onto Haskins which wore down the Brit for most of the match. Haskins’s comebacks made the crowd pop every time and the ending sequences of this match were awesome to see. I am still wondering why Alex hasn’t been booked in more promotions outside of CZW. If Colon keeps delivering matches like this, promoters will have to take notice of the 4 Loco Leader. Haskins looked very smooth and clean in this match; his work from what I’ve seen in wXw and Dragon Gate was sloppy in my eyes but in this he looked much better in this performance. I wouldn’t mind seeing Haskins with another shot internationally or in TNA again.
