Recap from TJ Hawke:

Bandido had recently defeated Adam Cole in CTWE.  I’m really pumped for this match. I think these two could have great chemistry,

A lot of people in the crowd didn’t seem to know who Elgin was. Elgin was getting into it with some people in the crowd. Elgin caught Bandido with a snap powerslam for an early nearfall.  Bandido managed to low-bridge Elgin to the floor, and Bandido then hit a corkscrew plancha. Back in the ring, Bandido went for a diving crossbody, but Elgin caught him. Bandido got a couple of pinning combinations, but Elgin survived them.  Elgin came back with an enzuigiri and a Fucking Machine Suplex: 1…2…NO! That got the crowd into Elgin. Elgin then took a bow.  Bandido managed to send Elgin to the floor, and he hit him with a dropkick through the ropes. Elgin came back with a backbreaker on the ring apron. Elgin brought Bandido back into the ring to get the heat.  Bandido came back with a seated dropkick. Bandido hit an elevated Backstabber for a nearfall.  Bandido then hit a satellite DDT: 1…2…NO!  Elgin came back with a Black Hole Slam: 1…2…NO! Bandido came back with a double stomp.  Bandido hit an enzuigiri and a superkick, but Elgin came right back with a huge lariat: 1…2…NO! Bandido avoided a powerbomb. Bandido came back with the Thugbait and a kneeling superkick: 1…2…NO!  They ended up on the top rope, and Elgin hit a super Celtic Cross. Elgin locked in the crossface, but Bandido survived.  Elgin hit a backfist and a buckle bomb. Elgin went for the spinning powerbomb, but Bandido got a flash pin: 1…2…3!

Elgin put Bandido over after the match. Elgin cut a promo in the back, where he essentially asked for a rematch, because he knows Bandido can’t beat him again. Bandido cut a promo in the back where he said that even he was surprised.

This was a really fun match, and I would really like to see a rematch one day soon. Bandido isn’t on Elgin’s level yet, but he has really grown into a really fine performer. Everyone should be booking Elgin; he is so on point with everything that he does.

Match Rating: ***1/2

About TJ Hawke

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling. Now though, he writes for the pop culture site (411mania.com), has his own blog (The Best of Chikara), and is the creator of the very site you are reading now.
