Recap from TJ Hawke:

Carter and Marconi were former tag partners that just blew off their year-long feud. After their blowoff, Dickinson attacked Marconi. Dickinson and Carter once had an awesome match in Beyond.  Corvis and Dickinson were former enemies in Beyond. They were put together for a match on National Pro Wrestling Day. So, this was a preview match. You got all that? Good. Onto the match.

Dickinson and Carter started the match. They went at it for a while. Both men showed how talented they were. Dickinson is especially awesome. Marconi and Corvis tagged in. They worked hard, but I just don’t connect to them the way I do with Dickinson and Carter.  Corvis hit Marconi with a delayed German. Carted tagged himself in.  Corvis and Dickinson worked over Carter for a bit. Carter came back with a step-up enzuigiri on Corvis. Carter eventually managed to hit Dickinson with a Codebreaker and Corvis with a back senton simultaneously. Marconi tagged in and ran wild. Dickinson low-bridged Corvis to the floor. Dickinson and Marconi started to exchange strikes. Marconi hit Dickinson with a chokeslam. Corvis hit Marconi with a frog splash. Carter hit Corvis with a Regal-plex. Corvis hit Marconi with a springboard Ace Crusher. Carter hit Corvis with a Mafia Kick. Carter went to hit Dickinson with Dickinson’s finisher (The Brain Eater). Dickinson reversed it and hit Carter with the Brain Eater, while Fear stomped down on Carter: 1…2…3.

Corvis Fear and Sugar Dunkerton trash-talked after the match. Dickinson started brawling with Sugar. Marconi and Corvis joined in. Cue hard-sell for National Pro Wrestling Day.

I enjoyed this match quite a bit. Chris Dickinson is really a great performer. He’s one of the most believable “fighters” in independent wrestling at the moment. Everything he does makes me think that’s he insane and willing to kick anyone’s ass at any time, for no good reason. That takes a lot of talent to pull that off. Everyone else did well in this match. Carter is another person to watch.

Match Rating: ***

About TJ Hawke

TJ was a fan of wrestling as a kid (starting around 1999), and his first concrete wrestling memory is some kid bringing Hulk Hogan his old yellow and red gear backstage during an episode of Nitro. Hogan needed the gear to defeat Kevin Nash in a title vs. career match at the next WCW PPV. Nash lost the match and his career, which sadly resulted in the world losing out on seeing Kevin Nash matches for the last 13 years. Like almost all young kids, TJ’s interest in wrestling fluctuated over the years until an episode of Raw on July 3, 2006. TJ was curious and excited to see his beloved RVD show up with the WWE Title belt and what he thought was the revitalized European title. TJ decided he must turn to the the internet to figure out what was going on. Almost 6 years later, TJ is still searching the internet every day to find out what is going on in wrestling. Now though, he writes for the pop culture site (411mania.com), has his own blog (The Best of Chikara), and is the creator of the very site you are reading now.
